Laziness..

Six months six my last post! That is horrendous. But I have been working in the meantime. My latest attempt to try and make some money from craftiness can be found at http://shellyduckceramics.blogspot.com.

Business time

As a big fan of Christmas, for me the excitement and preparation begins in October (yay the Christmas ads started today!). I spotted unpainted nutcrackers at Spotlight last week. I made a few adjustments and have done a slightly different take on the traditional nutcracker (it's not very Christmassy...)

I stuck newspaper to some parts of the nutcracker and then painted over the top - having been inspired by the children's book by Rona Rupert "All Everest's Birds" which uses newspapers to create many of the images.

Rosemary's Revenge

I'm doing another bootcamp and I working on a children's book called Rosemary's Revenge/ Rosemary's Ridiculous Revenge/ Radical Revenge... Not sure. Having done the skeleton of the story I see some very strong similarities with George's Marvelous Medicine. ARGH! But anyway, here are some images.

Sketchbook project

I am taking part in the sketchbook project. The theme of my sketchbook is "Things that changed other things". This is my first page... I'd better get cracking as it needs to be finished and posted to New York by 15 January 2011.

Sheep and dinosaurs

On the way back from Mt Ruapehu I spotted this spraypainted onto a fence - I thought it was cool

I also saw this T-rex made out of driftwood which I really liked. I didn't take this photo- credit goes to http://www.forgottenworld.co.nz/.
